On October 28, 2025, the Kurdish Institute for Elections, in coordination with Dejla Foundation for Coexistence and Development, organized a discussion session entitled "Confronting Hate Speech in Elections" at the foundation's main office in Kirkuk city. The Institute hosted four candidates from Kirkuk Governorate representing its main ethnic groups, namely:
Dr. Abbas Taqi from the Turkmen community
Dr. Saddam Al-Jumaili from the Arab community
Dr. Hussein Hassan from the Kurdish community
And former Member of Parliament Imad Yukhanna representing the Christian quota.
The session was moderated by Mr. Awat Mohammed from Dejla Foundation, where each candidate presented their ideas and positions on the session's topic and other issues related to the electoral situation and competing discourses. Following this, the floor was opened for discussion, allowing attendees to ask questions and exchange views.
