The Role of Citizenship in Achieving Social Peace and State-building

On 13/1/2025, the “European Foundation for Dialogue and Development”, with the participation of delegates from the office of the Prime Minister and the Iraqi National Dialogue and the presence of a number of ambassadors, organized a workshop entitled "The Role of Citizenship in Achieving Social Peace and State-building" in the city of Sulaimaniyah.

The head of the Dejla Foundation for Coexistence and Development participated in the workshop, which focused on a number of related topics aimed at building peace under well-established institutions that guarantee everyone's rights on the basis of genuine citizenship. Among the most important of these topics can be referred to; The impact of the absence of national identity on State-building and social fabric, the peacebuilding process, the amendment of the Constitution to ensure consolidated citizenship foundations, the role of the elite in achieving social peace and the initiatives necessary to achieve those goals at the national level.
