As part of a series of cultural and awareness seminars organized by the Dejla Foundation for Coexistence and Development, the Foundation hosted the writer and journalist, Mr. Ridha Al-dhahir, who is considered one of the prominent cultural figures and a well-known civil activist, to present a symposium under the title "The Intellectual and the Social Movement" at the Foundation’s main office in the city of Kirkuk on May 17, 2025. The symposium was attended by a group of intellectuals, academics, activists of civil society organizations, and politicians of both genders and different ethnicities who represent the diverse social spectrums of Kirkuk Governorate
The activity began by presenting a piece of music with a solo guitar playing, and then the head of the institution, Mr. Falah Salah, welcomed the attendees.
The symposium was moderated by Mr. Awat Mohammed from the Dejla Foundation, which included six topics, ending with leaving the space for attendees to participate in asking questions and interventions both languages Arabic and Kurdish.
The symposium was characterized by the nature of interactive participation and frankness in presenting topics for the purpose of exchanging opinions and information, while emphasizing the necessity of continuing such activities and presenting more dialogue seminars by cultural elites from all components of Kirkuk society.
